Technological advancement has caused us to deny the satisfaction and comprehension of interaction and operation. This led me to pursue designs that uncloak the mysterious and complicated “black box” and operate using a device that is nostalgic, paying homage to its history or genesis. In the "Flame Lamp", I decided to free the desk lamp of its lifeless incandescent bulb and the accompanying restriction of being within a cord’s length of a power outlet.
